Psalm 5:12 reminds us of a beautiful truth about the heart of God toward His people. “For surely You, O LORD, bless the righteous; You surround them with the shield of Your favour.”
Life can often feel uncertain and unpredictable. There are moments when challenges arise unexpectedly, when opposition seems strong, and when fear tries to steal our peace. Yet in the middle of all these realities, God gives His children a powerful assurance. He does not leave us exposed or defenseless. He surrounds us with His favour like a shield.
A shield in battle was not a decoration. It was protection against arrows, attacks, and danger. In the same way, God’s favour becomes a covering over your life. His hand goes before you, walks beside you, and stands behind you. Even when you cannot see what He is doing, He is guarding your path and working on your behalf.
Those who walk with God can expect His blessing and faithfulness. This does not mean that life will never have difficulties, but it means that no challenge can separate you from His care. The Lord watches over His children with constant attention and endless love. His protection is not temporary or uncertain. It is steady, dependable, and secure.
Jesus is the greatest expression of God’s favour and protection. Through Christ, we have access to grace, mercy, salvation, and eternal hope. Because of Him, we do not walk through life alone. We are surrounded by the presence of God every single day. When fear rises, His favour shields us. When weakness comes, His strength upholds us. When the future feels unclear, His promises remain firm.
Today, choose to rest in the confidence that God is encompassing you with His protection. Trust Him even when circumstances seem difficult. His favour is greater than opposition, His love is stronger than fear, and His hand is able to sustain you through every season.
PRAYER:
Lord, what a joy it is to know that You encompass me with Your protection, favour and provision. I will trust in Your divine protection and I will hold on to Your promise of blessing and favour. Thank You for surrounding my life with Your goodness and faithfulness. Help me to walk confidently, knowing that You are my shield and defender. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
