Joshua 24:15 – “But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
Life will always present alternatives. There will be moments when serving God feels easy and moments when it feels costly. There will be seasons of clarity and seasons of confusion. Yet in the midst of all these shifting conditions, Joshua makes a bold and unwavering declaration. He does not negotiate. He does not delay. He does not follow the crowd. He chooses.
Serving the Lord is not a one-time emotional decision. It is a daily, deliberate commitment. Every morning, you are presented with choices about your priorities, your attitude, your words, and your actions. Each of these choices either draws you closer to God or pulls you away from Him. To say, “I will serve the Lord,” means you are choosing Him over convenience, over pressure, over fear, and even over your own desires.
When you truly put God first, your life begins to align. Your decisions become clearer. Your values become stronger. Your home becomes a place of peace and purpose. This is not because life becomes perfect, but because your foundation becomes unshakable. A life centered on God is not easily destroyed by circumstances.
Joshua did not speak only for himself. He declared, “as for me and my household.” This reveals responsibility and leadership. Serving God is not meant to remain private. It is meant to influence those around you. Your commitment can shape your family, your environment, and even generations after you. Someone is watching your life. Someone is learning from your choices.
There will be pressure to compromise. There will be voices that say you are doing too much or that it is not necessary to be fully committed. Ignore them. Half-hearted devotion produces weak results. But a life fully surrendered to God carries power, favor, and direction.
So today, make the decision again. Not based on feelings, but based on conviction. Not based on ease, but based on truth. Say it with clarity and live it with consistency: no matter what, I will serve the Lord.
PRAYER:
Lord, I choose to put You first in my life and in my home. May everything I do bring glory to You and reflect my love for You. Help me to serve You wholeheartedly and to keep You at the centre of everything. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Good morning to you all. Have an awesome Friday.
