Psalm 62:2 – “He alone is my rock and my salvation, my defence, and my strong tower; I will not be shaken or disheartened.”
This verse is a declaration of settled confidence. The psalmist does not divide his trust or look for backup plans. He says He alone. God is not one of many supports. He is the rock on which everything else stands. When life feels unstable, this truth becomes an anchor for the soul.
Situations and circumstances can easily unsettle us. Unexpected news, pressure, and uncertainty can shake our emotions and drain our courage. Yet God remains unchanged. He is the rock that does not move, the salvation that never fails, the defence that surrounds us, and the fortress that keeps us secure. What shifts around us does not alter who He is.
To call God a fortress is to acknowledge that safety is found in His presence. A fortress is a place of refuge, strength, and protection in times of attack. When fear tries to overwhelm you or discouragement presses in, God invites you to run to Him. In Him, you find stability when everything else feels fragile.
This devotion is a call to focus your confidence on God alone. Do not let discouragement have the final word. Even when you feel weak, God is your strength. Even when the path ahead is unclear, He remains your refuge and deliverer.
As you begin this day, stand firm in this truth. You may face uncertainty, but you are not defenseless. God is your fortress, and because of Him, you will not be shaken or disheartened.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that You are the strength of my life. I look to You as my only hope and refuge in the uncertainty of life. Surely You will rescue and deliver me. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Good morning to you all. Have a blessed Friday.
