Amos 9:13 – “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when the reaper will be overtaken by the ploughman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills.”
This verse from Amos is a powerful picture of divine reversal and overflowing grace. God speaks of a season so full of blessing that there is no pause between sowing and harvesting. Before the reaper can finish, the ploughman is already preparing the ground again. Before the grapes are fully processed, new wine is already flowing. This is not human effort or coincidence. This is God demonstrating that He alone controls times, seasons, and outcomes.
When life feels slow, difficult, or uncertain, it is easy to think that things are out of control. Amos reminds us that even in seasons of struggle, God has not stepped away. He is still working behind the scenes, aligning events according to His purpose. What looks like delay is often preparation. What feels like loss can become the ground for abundance.
God specializes in turning scarcity into overflow. He takes dry seasons and transforms them into fruitful ones. He takes what was broken and restores it with more than was lost. Restoration is not an afterthought in God’s plan. It is part of His promise to His people. When God restores, He does so fully, touching every area of life, spiritual, emotional, and physical.
This devotion calls us to shift our posture. Instead of fear, we are invited to expectation. Instead of anxiety, we are invited to trust. God wants His people to live with the confidence that He provides, sustains, and blesses at the right time. Our role is to remain faithful, obedient, and hopeful, knowing that the same God who promised abundance is the God who fulfills it.
As you begin this day, rest in this truth. God is in control. Your season is not random. Your waiting is not wasted. The days are coming when what you planted in faith will produce more than you imagined.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the new season that You are bringing into my life. I ask that You would cause this next season to be one of restoration and divine favour. May every aspect of my life be touched by Your hand. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Good morning to you all. Have a blessed Saturday.
