2 Timothy 1:7 – “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Fear is not from God. It is a tool the enemy uses to weaken our faith, drain our courage, and cloud our thinking. When fear takes root, it robs us of the strength to move forward, the freedom to love fully, and the clarity to make wise decisions. God never intended His children to live controlled by fear or held back by intimidation.
The Word reminds us that what God gives is entirely different. He gives power, the strength that comes from His Spirit working within us. This power enables us to stand firm, to endure pressure, and to rise above circumstances that would otherwise overwhelm us. He also gives love, a love that drives out fear, heals wounded hearts, and enables us to care for others even in difficult moments.
Along with power and love, God gives us a sound mind. This is a mind anchored in truth, calm in the midst of uncertainty, and able to discern the right path to take. A sound mind allows us to think clearly, to respond wisely, and to trust God even when the future feels uncertain. Fear brings confusion, but God brings peace and stability.
Today, you are invited to reject every form of fear that has tried to attach itself to your life. You do not have to accept fear as normal or permanent. God has placed within you everything you need to live boldly, love deeply, and think clearly. As you lean into Him, His power will strengthen you, His love will surround you, and His peace will guard your heart and mind.
Prayer
Lord, today I receive the gifts You have given me: power, love, and a sound mind. I reject fear, doubt, hopelessness, and despair. Thank You for filling me with courage, strength, and clarity. I choose to walk in confidence, knowing You are with me. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
