‘Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up in honour.’ – James 4:10
Life often tempts us to rely on our own strength, knowledge, or understanding. We can feel that we must carry burdens alone or prove ourselves through our own efforts. Yet God calls us to humility, to recognise our limitations and our constant need for Him. Humility is not weakness. It is the doorway to experiencing God’s power, favour, and blessing.
When we acknowledge God’s authority and surrender our hearts fully to Him, He begins to work in our lives in ways we cannot accomplish on our own. He lifts us up in honour, not because of what we have done, but because of His grace working through our obedience and trust. Humility opens the door for God’s glory to be displayed in our lives, for our character to be refined, and for others to see the hand of God at work.
Humble yourself today. Admit your need for God and allow Him to guide, strengthen, and exalt you. Trust that as you depend on Him, He will lift you up at the right time and in the right way. Your honour, your success, and your blessing come from God alone.
PRAYER:
Lord, I want to take this moment to deliberately submit myself to You. I recognise Your authority and my dependence on You. Thank You for the promise that You will come and lift me up as I trust and rely on You. Help me to remain humble in heart and steadfast in faith. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
