“When Jesus woke up, He rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Silence! Be still!’ Suddenly, the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.” – Mark 4:39

Storms come in many forms. Some are external—financial struggles, health crises, broken relationships. Others are internal—fear, anxiety, regret, and loneliness. At times, it feels like the winds are too strong, the waves too high, and the darkness too deep. But this verse reminds us of something profoundly comforting: Jesus is in the boat with us. Even when it feels like He’s silent… even when it seems like He’s sleeping… He is still with us. And when He stands and speaks, every force of chaos must obey.

  • He is the Lord of the storm. – He does not panic. He does not retreat. He speaks, and creation listens.
  • He is the Master of peace. – One word from Him—“Peace, be still”—and the fiercest turmoil must bow.
  • Your storm is not greater than His voice. – What terrifies you does not trouble Him. His calm is stronger than your chaos.

So today, take heart. Even if you’re in the middle of crashing waves and howling winds, remember: He has the final word. The storm will not last forever. When He speaks, there will be peace.

PRAYER:

Lord, I bring to You every storm raging in my heart and life. You know the chaos I am facing, the fears that surround me, and the weariness in my soul. But I choose to trust You—the One who commands the seas and calms the winds. Speak peace over me, Lord. Speak stillness over my situation. I believe that no storm is too great when You are present. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Good morning to you all. Have a wonderful Friday. May the peace of God surround you like a blanket, and may every storm in your life bow at the sound of His voice.
