Verse: Genesis 15:5
“Then the LORD took him outside and said, ‘Look up at the sky and count the stars—if you can.’ Then He said to him, ‘That’s how many descendants you will have!’”
When God gives us a promise, it often stretches far beyond what our natural eyes can see or what our human minds can comprehend.
In this verse, God was speaking to Abraham, a man advanced in years, who had no children and saw no physical evidence that his dream of a family would ever come true.
But God took him outside—out of the tent of limited vision, out of the boundaries of human reasoning—and invited him to look up.
He didn’t just tell Abraham what He could do—He gave him a picture of the miraculous, a vision so vast that it echoed the impossible.
This is what God does. He lifts our eyes. He enlarges our faith.
He calls us to look beyond what we see and believe in what He said.
Don’t Limit What God Can Do
We so often limit God by:
- Focusing on what we lack
- Leaning on our own understanding
- Letting disappointment shape our expectations
But the truth is:
- We serve a limitless, powerful, miracle-working God.
- If He could create galaxies, form stars, and speak worlds into being,
- ✨ then surely He can fulfill the promises He has spoken over your life.
God Sees More in You Than You See in Yourself
- God didn’t just show Abraham stars—He showed him legacy, destiny, and divine fulfillment.
- You may feel small, forgotten, or stuck—but God sees something far greater.
- He sees potential, purpose, and a future that far exceeds your current reality.
- Let God take you “outside” the box you’ve placed yourself in.
- Let Him expand your vision and show you what’s possible when He is involved.
PRAYER
Lord, take me outside the boundaries of my limited thinking and help me to look up again. Let me not be confined by what I see, feel, or understand, but let my heart be filled with bold faith in what You can do. Open the eyes of my spirit to the greatness You have in store. I know You are able, and I trust You with the impossible. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
