2 Corinthians 2:16 – “We are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ… To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?”
When God places His hand upon a life, that life does not remain neutral. It begins to carry weight, meaning, and spiritual influence. Just as a fragrance fills a room without making noise, a life lived for Christ quietly but powerfully changes the atmosphere around it. People may not always understand it, but they will feel it.
Paul reminds us that the presence of Christ in us produces different responses. To some, it is life, hope, healing, and a glimpse of redemption. To others, it is uncomfortable, confronting, and even unsettling. This is not because of pride or self righteousness, but because the light of Christ exposes hearts and reveals truth. The same aroma can be received differently depending on the condition of the heart.
This reality calls us to humility. Who is equal to such a responsibility? On our own, none of us are. Yet God, in His grace, entrusts us with this sacred calling. He chooses ordinary people to carry an extraordinary presence. Our role is not to force acceptance, but to remain faithful. When we walk in obedience, love, and surrender, God uses our lives to speak even when our words fall silent.
It is a privilege to be used by God, and it is also a responsibility. We are called to live in a way that honors Christ, knowing that our attitudes, actions, and choices reflect Him. We do not seek the approval of people, but the pleasure of God. When His hand rests upon us, He shapes our character and uses our lives to influence the world around us in ways we may never fully see.
Remain surrendered. Remain faithful. Let God do the work through you, trusting that His purpose will prevail.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that Your hand on my life changes the very atmosphere around me. I realise that not everyone celebrates this, but I choose Your favour above the favour of man. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Good morning to you all. Have an awesome Saturday.
