“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch can not bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” John 15:4
To abide in the Lord is to choose a life of continual closeness with Him. It is choosing to draw your strength, wisdom, and peace from His presence instead of trying to survive on your own. Just as a branch cannot produce fruit unless it remains connected to the vine, you and I cannot live fruitful and meaningful lives unless we remain connected to Christ.
There is a flow of life that comes only from Him. When we stay close to the Lord through prayer, worship, the Word, and obedience, His life flows into every part of our being. His peace calms our anxieties. His wisdom guides our decisions. His strength carries us through challenges. His joy becomes our inner energy.
Many times we try to handle life alone. We work, we push, we stress, and we strive, only to find ourselves drained and discouraged. But the Lord invites us to another way. He calls us to abide. To rest. To stay connected. To allow Him to be the source of everything we need.
In His presence we become fruitful. In His presence we grow. In His presence we find purpose and direction. Abiding in Him is not a one time decision. It is a daily choice, a daily surrender, a daily delight in the One who gives life in abundance.
Let today be a reminder that you are not designed to walk alone. Stay close to the Vine. Stay connected to your Source. In that connection you will find everything you need for the journey ahead.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that I can live a life in which I am connected with You each and every day. I recognise that I need You in my life, and so I choose to abide and remain connected to You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Good morning to you all. Have a blessed Thursday.
