This is what the LORD says: ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.’ – Jeremiah 6:16
Life often brings us to crossroads, moments where decisions are critical and the path forward is unclear. These are not times to rush or follow our own understanding. Instead, God invites us to pause, to stand still, and to seek His guidance.
When we ask for the ancient paths, we are asking for the ways that are tried, true, and aligned with God’s perfect wisdom. Choosing His good way brings peace, clarity, and purpose. Our souls are weary when we rely only on ourselves, but when we follow the Lord’s leading, we experience rest and assurance that we are walking in His will.
Trusting God at the crossroads transforms uncertainty into confidence. His guidance equips us to make decisions that honor Him and protect our hearts from unnecessary struggles. The choice to seek Him first is the first step toward a life of peace, purpose, and divine blessing.
PRAYER:
Lord, I pause today at the crossroads in my life. I ask You to show me the right way, the path that pleases You and brings rest to my soul. Help me to trust Your wisdom above my own understanding and to walk faithfully in Your guidance every day. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
