“Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, and that Your hand would be with me…” – 1 Chronicles 4:10
The prayer of Jabez is a cry from the heart of someone who dared to ask God for more. Not more for selfish gain, but more of God’s presence, more of His influence, and more of His power at work in his life. He longed for his life to carry the weight of God’s blessing, to extend beyond limits, and to touch others with the goodness of God.
When we speak of God enlarging our territory, we are not just talking about physical land or material possessions. We are speaking of God expanding our opportunities, our influence, and our capacity to live for His glory. He enlarges the boundaries of our hearts so we can love more deeply, serve more faithfully, and shine His light more brightly.
The hand of God is the picture of His active presence with us. His hand guides when we are uncertain, upholds us when we are weak, protects us when danger surrounds us, and opens doors no man can shut. To have His hand upon our lives is one of the greatest assurances we can carry. From His hand flows blessing, comfort, and strength.
Just as Jabez cried out with boldness, so too can we pray, asking the Lord to enlarge our lives beyond our own ability, and to mark us with His presence. When God’s hand is with us, what was once small can become great, and what once seemed impossible can be made possible.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your hand in my life. It is the longing and desire of my heart to experience more of Your presence, more of Your blessing, and more of the knowledge that Your hand is with me. Enlarge my territory so that my life may glorify You and be a blessing to others. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Good morning to you all. Have an awesome Saturday.
