‘This is the finger of God.’ – Exodus 8:19
The Bible tells us of moments when even those who opposed God had to acknowledge His power. In Exodus, the magicians of Pharaoh, after trying and failing to replicate what Moses had done, declared, “This is the finger of God.” They recognized that what was happening was not by human ability but by divine intervention.
In our own lives, the finger of God is constantly at work. Sometimes we may not notice it in the moment, but when we look back, we can clearly see His guidance, His protection, and His mercy. That sudden breakthrough, the accident you narrowly escaped, the door that opened when you least expected it, the peace that calmed your troubled heart—these are not coincidences. They are the fingerprints of God, showing us that He is actively involved in our journey.
God does not sit far off, distant from our struggles. His finger touches our lives with care and precision, arranging circumstances, protecting us from unseen dangers, and leading us toward His purpose. Each act of His intervention reminds us that we are not walking this path alone. The same God who moved in the days of Moses is still moving today in your life.
So do not lose heart. Keep trusting Him. Expect His presence to show up in ways you cannot explain. And when you see His hand at work, pause and give Him glory. Let your heart always recognize and rejoice in the finger of God in action.
PRAYER: Lord, today I recognise that many things that have happened in my life were actually the finger of God in action. Help me to stay sensitive to Your leading and never miss what You are doing. Open my eyes to see Your hand guiding and sustaining me. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Good morning to you all. Have a wonderful Friday.
