“One day, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his people and looked on their burdens…” – Exodus 2:11

As children, it is natural to live in a world where our needs and desires come first. But true maturity is not just measured by age or years; it is measured by the ability to look beyond ourselves and notice the pain and burdens of others. Moses reached a point where he could no longer ignore the struggles of his people. He stepped out of his comfort and chose to see.

In life, it is easier to turn away, to keep walking, or to remain focused on our own challenges. But God calls us to have a heart that feels, sees, and responds with compassion. Compassion is love in action. It is not about having all the solutions, but about offering what we can — a listening ear, a kind word, a helping hand, or even a prayer that carries someone through.

You may not be able to take away every burden, but you can lighten someone’s load. You may not be able to fix every problem, but you can bring hope, encouragement, and comfort. When we open our hearts to the needs of others, we reflect the heart of Christ Himself, who was moved with compassion whenever He saw the broken, the weary, and the hurting.

Let us grow into people who do not just pass by but people who pause, notice, and respond. May our lives be marked by compassion that brings healing, hope, and a glimpse of God’s love into the lives of those around us.

PRAYER:

Lord, help me not to just be consumed with my own situation. Open the eyes of my heart so that I can see the challenges that others are going through. Give me a heart of compassion and help me to be a blessing. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Good morning to you all. Have a blessed Friday.
