‘You hem me in behind and before; You have laid Your hand upon me.’ – Psalm 139:5
There is something deeply comforting and profoundly powerful in knowing that the hand of Almighty God is resting on your life. You are not wandering through this world unnoticed. You are not overlooked, forgotten, or left to figure life out on your own. You are seen, known, and surrounded by the One who created you.
When David wrote these words in Psalm 139, he was overwhelmed by the nearness and care of God. He realized that from the very beginning of his journey to the very end, God was present, protecting him from behind, preparing the way ahead, and laying His hand of guidance, favour, and blessing upon him.
God has hemmed you in, He has lovingly encircled you. He has set divine boundaries to protect you from what would harm you and to direct you toward His purpose. Even when you’ve gone through seasons of brokenness, uncertainty, or pain, His hand was still there, steady and unwavering, holding you together.
Perhaps today you feel unseen, or maybe you feel like your life is slipping out of control. Be reminded: the same hand that carved the mountains, calmed the sea, and healed the blind is the hand that rests gently, yet powerfully, upon your life. That hand holds your past with mercy, your present with strength, and your future with hope.
God’s hand is not passive, it brings direction, healing, restoration, and provision. He doesn’t just touch your life—He shapes it with love, grace, and intentionality. So walk with boldness and peace today, knowing that you are covered before and behind, and His hand is upon you.
PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for the assurance that You have hemmed me in—behind and before. Thank You that Your mighty hand rests upon my life. You are the God of my past, present, and future. Even when I can’t see the way ahead, I will trust in Your hand to lead and protect me. Help me to walk confidently, knowing that I am held by You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Good morning to you all. Have a wonderful Tuesday.
