“When you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” – John 1:48
There is something deeply comforting about being seen, truly seen. Not just the outward version of ourselves that we show the world, but the hidden parts too: the struggles, the silent tears, the unspoken prayers, and the weary sighs.
In this powerful verse, Jesus speaks to Nathanael and reveals something remarkable: “When you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” Before Nathanael even knew who Jesus was, the Lord had already noticed him. He had seen him. And He sees you too.
- God sees you when you celebrate a victory and when you collapse in defeat.
- He sees you when you serve faithfully, even when no one thanks you.
- He sees the moments when you question, wonder, and wrestle in prayer.
- He sees the longing in your heart that words cannot express.
You are not invisible to God. Even in seasons of silence, He is watching over you with a love that never wavers and eyes that never look away. He sees not just what you’re going through but also who you are becoming.
In a world that often overlooks and forgets, God remembers. He doesn’t miss a moment. He doesn’t need reminders. He is the God who sees you, knows you, and chooses to draw near.
So today, take comfort in the truth that you are never alone. Under your own “fig tree,” whatever that may look like—your place of prayer, doubt, or isolation—He is there. And He sees you.
PRAYER:
Lord, thank You that You see me—not just the image I present to others, but the real me. Thank You that I am never hidden from Your sight and never outside the reach of Your care. Even when I feel overlooked or misunderstood, help me to rest in the assurance that I am fully seen and deeply loved by You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Good morning to you all. Have a great Saturday.
