‘And when they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.’ – Matthew 17:8
Fix Your Eyes on Jesus
In life, it’s easy to get distracted by the chaos and troubles that surround us. The weight of daily challenges, uncertainties, and fears can cause us to feel overwhelmed and defeated. But in the midst of it all, there is a reminder in this verse: lift your eyes. When the disciples looked up, they saw no one except Jesus—the One who holds all things together.
Let Go of the Distractions
When we keep our gaze fixed on the problems in front of us, they begin to seem insurmountable. They consume our thoughts and rob us of peace. But the moment we lift our eyes, we are reminded of the One who is greater than any storm, greater than any challenge, and greater than any fear. Jesus is our anchor in the storm, our peace in the chaos, and our refuge in the battle.
He Is All You Need
The verse reminds us that, ultimately, Jesus is all we need. When the disciples looked up and saw Him, everything else faded away. In His presence, fears are silenced, doubts are erased, and hope is restored. He is the source of our strength, the giver of life, and the One who holds our future in His hands.
A Call to Refocus
This is an invitation to shift your focus from the temporary to the eternal, from the struggles to the Savior. Lift your eyes today, not in despair but in faith. Look to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith. When your focus is on Him, you will find the strength and hope you need to press on.
PRAYER:
Lord, today I choose to lift my eyes above the troubles that surround me. Help me to let go of the distractions and to fix my gaze on You alone. When I feel overwhelmed, remind me that You are greater than anything I face. You are my strength, my hope, and my life. May I see You clearly and trust You completely. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Encouragement for Today:
No matter what you’re facing, lift your eyes to Jesus. As you look to Him, may you be reminded that He is in control and that He is working all things together for your good. Let His peace fill your heart and His hope renew your strength.
Good morning to you all. May your Saturday be blessed as you keep your focus on Jesus, the One who never fails!
